Richard joined H. Pearce Company’s Commercial Division as Senior Broker in its North Haven office. Richard is well prepared to represent H. Pearce Company in central Connecticut, having spent his entire 15-year real estate career as a specialist in that market. His New Haven-based company, BGI Commercial Realty, was one of the pre-eminent boutique real estate firms in the region prior to Richard’s decision to join a national firm in the summer of 2001. In addition to directing BGI Commercial Realty’s commercial and investment portfolio and overseeing the acquisition and disposition of properties in Connecticut, New York, Georgia and Florida, he also provided tenant representation services to many of the area’s most well-known companies including Thoughtware Technologies, Sarah, Inc., Service National Corporation, Beyond Care LLC, Quest Diagnostics, Advance Research & Robotics and Thornton Medical Communications.

In addition to invigorating H. Pearce Company’s overall efforts in central Connecticut, Richard further enhances its commitment to servicing the biotechnology, life sciences and pharmaceutical industries – a sector that has seen particularly strong growth over the past year, especially in New Haven County. CAS Medical and the Institute for Pharmaceutical Discovery are just two of the companies he has already worked with from these industries.

Richard is active in the Connecticut chapter of CCIM, and was Chapter President in the year 2000. He was recently elected CCIM Institute’s Regional Vice President for New England/New York, and is currently serving a two-year term. Richard also acts as Co-Chair for the Connecticut / Westchester Chapter of CoreNet Global (national association of corporate real estate executives) and was recently elected to serve a 3-year term on the New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.

Richard earned a Bachelors degree from Colgate University and Masters from Colgate/Rochester. He resides in Cheshire, CT with his wife and two daughters.
