Barbara
is the President and CEO of H. Pearce Company
Realtors®. A graduate of both Radcliffe
and Harvard, she received her Bachelor of
Arts degree magna cum laude in Psychology
and Social Relations from Radcliffe and the
degrees of Master of Business Administration
and Juris Doctor from Harvard University.
While at Radcliffe, she was a member of the
Radcliffe Varsity Lightweight Crew and at
Harvard, was awarded the Harvard Business
School Section Prize for First Year Marketing.
Prior to joining the Pearce Company, Barbara
practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher
& Flon, specializing in securities work
and mergers/acquisitions. In 1981, Barbara
joined her father, Herb Pearce, as an officer
of the H. Pearce Real Estate Company. Since
she has taken on that role, the company has
expanded its specialized services and grown
its market share exponentially.
In
the community, Barbara has served as a strong
advocate for the Greater New Haven Region,
sitting on the boards of many non-profit organizations.
She is a past chairman of the board for the
United Way of Greater New Haven, raising a
record $5.6M in the 2003-2004 United Way Campaign
Cabinet. She is also a board member for the
International Festival of Arts and Ideas;
Long Wharf Theatre and the Regional Leadership
Council. A founding member of the Women Organizing
Women Political Action Committee (WOWPAC);
and a member of the Visiting Committee for
Harvard College, Barbara is widely recognized
as one of the areas most influential leaders.
A
marathon runner, Barbara lives in Guilford,
Connecticut with her husband, Norman Fleming
and 2 children, Bradley and Hope.
