Herbert
H. Pearce is the Founder and Chairman of H.
Pearce Real Estate Company with seven offices,
more than 150 associates, and annual sales
in excess of $400 million. He is also involved
in real estate development, syndication, and
industrial and commercial projects.
Herb
began his career working with A.C. Gilbert
Company in New Haven. He held various management
positions, including Factory Superintendent
and Marketing Development Manager for a company
employing 2,800 people, 2,000 of whom were
involved in the operating department, which
he headed.
In
1958, he started the H. Pearce Real Estate
Company and utilized the management techniques
along with the advertising and marketing skills
earned and practiced at the nationally acclaimed
A.C. Gilbert Company. From its inception the
HPC exerted a leadership role in the Real
Estate Industry and introduced many innovative
ideas especially in the field of advertising
and promotion. These ideas put into practice
by the company changed the face of real estate
in Connecticut. Herb served as President of
the Connecticut Association of Realtors in
1975, representing 18,000 Realtors and served
on the National Board of Realtors.
Herb
has been dedicated to the growth and improvement
of the New Haven community, improving the
quality of life for its residents. Among the
many awards and recognitions he has received
over the years, Herb received the Seal of
the City Award in September 2002. He is a
New Haven native who has a long and proud
history of service in the community. He has
been a strong leader in business and a vocal
advocate for many local non-profit organizations.
Hon. Rosa L. DeLauro stated, "The Quinnipiac
Council of Boy Scouts, Yale New Haven Hospital,
American Red Cross and the New Haven Symphony
are just some of the local, state and national
organizations who have benefitted from his
dedicated work. Past President of the Greater
New Haven Chamber of Commerce and the United
Way of Greater New Haven, Herb's efforts have
made a real difference in the lives of many.
His generosity and good will are reflected
in the myriad of awards and recognitions he
has received throughout his lifetime. The
